Sybil of the Rhine: Visionary songs of Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179)

Hildegard von Bingen wasn't just an eccentric medieval nun. She was, and still is, a legend. Leader, counsellor, healer, writer and preacher, she was also the composer of over 70 beautiful and intricate songs, some of which she "heard" during the visions that she experienced throughout her life. On June 10, Ensemble Scholastica invites you to hear the exquisite vision songs of one of the greatest composers of her time in one of Montreal's best acoustics for women's voices and historical instruments. This concert also features an original setting of Hildegard's words by contemporary composer Noa Haran.
